Privacy notice.

This notice covers the ByteBack LLC website at getbyteback.com and its business inquiry forms.

What the form collects

If you submit an inquiry, we collect your email, company, and project description. Please do not send passwords, private keys, personal customer data, or confidential source code through the form.

We also record a submission reference and time. If you arrive through a tagged campaign, the form can include campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers supplied in the page URL, the landing-page path, and the referring website’s hostname. It does not send the referring page’s full URL.

Why we use it

We use inquiry details to assess fit, reply, scope potential work, and keep a record of the conversation. Campaign attribution helps us understand which advertising brings relevant inquiries. A submission does not subscribe you to a newsletter.

Where it goes

The form sends information over HTTPS to ByteBack’s server. Accepted inquiries are saved in a private server database, outside the public website, and a notification is sent to ByteBack’s business inbox through its mail server. Hosting and email infrastructure process this information as part of delivering the service. We do not sell inquiry information.

Browser storage and advertising

The site uses your browser’s session storage to retain campaign attribution while you navigate within the same tab. It does not store your typed inquiry details there. The form works when session storage is unavailable.

This version of the site does not install Google, Meta, or LinkedIn advertising pixels or analytics cookies. Campaign details are not automatically sent back to those platforms by this site. If tracking changes, this notice will be updated before it is enabled.

Operational logs and retention

Web-server logs can include IP addresses, requested URLs (including campaign parameters), timestamps, and browser information. The form uses a short-lived, hashed IP-based record to limit automated abuse; it does not add a raw IP address to the inquiry database or notification.

Form database records are removed after 90 days. Email correspondence and operational backups may be retained longer where needed for an ongoing business relationship, security, or legal obligations. The 90-day database deletion does not automatically delete email or backups.

Your choices and contact

You can ask to access, correct, or delete inquiry information by replying to ByteBack’s response or contacting ByteBack on Signal. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Signal is an alternative to the form. If you use it, Signal’s own service and privacy practices also apply.
